Welcome to Somatic Matters!

Let’s get therapy moving.
Hi, I’m Annabelle Coote. I’m here to connect with you. To share the joy and fulfillment I have experienced as a long-time somatic therapist, and to help you do the same. To help you feel more rooted in yourself as a therapist so that you can bring more of your gifts and strengths to help your clients.
I have dabbled over the years with writing about somatic therapy, tapping into creativity, and therapist resilience. Mostly I’ve created a hodge-podge assortment, but throughout it all, there are through-lines that speak to what is important to me, and right now I’m interested in digging more deeply into these themes.
For example, I am a raving fan of somatic work and how bottom-up approaches offer seemingly magic change for clients and a practice-changing experience for therapists. I want to get therapy out of the box, bring it alive and help therapists understand that somatic therapy is not just a bunch of tricks or practices - it’s really about bringing all of yourself into the work and helping your clients do the same.
Curious? I’d love to have you along for the journey as a free or paid subscriber.

Work with me
I love supporting therapists find their feet on the ground, learn to trust their own wisdom, and feel comfortable taking new risks with innovative work. I offer individual and group consultation programs.
Whether you’re brand new to somatic work and need some mentorship or are a seasoned practitioner who is committed to ongoing growth, I’d be honored to be a partner and a guide.
I can help you integrate somatic work in your practice, nurture your own capacity to be present and embodied, trust your instincts as a clinician, cultivate your creativity, decrease burnout and increase satisfaction in your work, learn to use experiential practices effectively through in-person and telehealth sessions.
Whether we are diving into client case consultation, applying trauma and attachment theory, understanding neurobiology, developing skills, or exploring your own professional growth edges, we will work collaboratively using somatic and creative approaches.
